Although the United States listed Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, the lenient policy it has been adopting regarding the Shiite party’s activity along the Lebanese borders has raised confusion.
Several media outlets, in the US, Russia, Arab states as well as Israel commented on the fact.
Russia’s Sputnik website asked: Is the US Joining Forces with Hezbollah to Fight Daesh?
Similarly, US daily Newsweek published an article, whereby it said “the US and Iran, rival powers in Middle Eastern affairs, are once again working together to combat the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) via local allies, this time in the barrens of the Lebanese-Syrian border.”
In turn, The Goldwater website released an article with a headline saying: US Special Forces Now inside Lebanon Aiding Hezbollah against ISIS
Israeli media has also tackled this issue.
