Last May, the cabinet approved a project to build two bridges in the form of 2L in order to ensure access and exit from the region of Jal el-Dib.
Once contracting procedures to kick off implementation started residents from Jal el-Dib and Antelias took to the streets to voice objection to the project, warning against transferring the heavy traffic jams from the highway to the city’s streets.
The protesters raised their case to the president, calling on him to reconsider and review the project, vowing escalation but without road blocking measures.
