Ghalioun: We will deploy efforts to release the Lebanese kidnapped

During a news conference held in Turkey on Sunday, the president of the National Syrian Council Burhan Ghalioun addressed the UN Security Council member-states, in the name of the Syrian people, and asked them to immediately interfere in order to stop the massacres committed against the Syrian people. He called on the people of the world to exert pressure on their governments to provide all forms of necessary support to the Syrian people.          

Ghalioun stressed that he will deploy efforts to release the Lebanese kidnapped pilgrims in Syria.         

He also said that Turkey worked on assisting the Syrian revolution and supported the National Syrian Council, adding that he asked Turkey to mobilize the international community so that the UN Security Council holds a meeting to discuss the massacres committed in Syria.           

In this context, Ghalioun expressed his belief that the situation in Syria is so exceptional that international intervention is a must; otherwise, a civil war will take place in Syria.
