Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared Sunday that the timing of the Lebanese army’s battle against the Islamic State will be decided by the army itself, noting that they currently have a political and sovereign decision.
He hoped that no one would compare this battle with another.
Nasrallah added that Lebanese people are facing an intimidation campaign by the United States, hoping that some Lebanese officials would not be partnering under the table with these campaigns through the international and diplomatic visits.
Commenting on the US financial sanctions against Hezbollah, the party’s leader stressed that the US administration will be able to damage Hezbollah’s resolve and strength.
“We realized that US President Trump did not know that Hezbollah is part of the Lebanese government, while some of his Lebanese allies claimed that Hezbollah controls the cabinet; but this is a wrong claim,” he stated.
In a televised speech he delivered on the occasion of 11th anniversary of July 2006 victory, Nasrallah said that “if the Israelis step foot on our land, they will face a stronger response than that of 2006,” adding that the resistance is serious in Lebanon.
“The resistance does not joke about its mission, but plans, follows up on the developments, reconsiders its structure and now acquires the best weapons, which is its right,” he continued.
