While questions were raised by many March 14 parties about which official side allowed the Islamic State fighters to leave Lebanon, the answer came in a stance expressed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri in a statement to French “Le Monde” newspaper.
Hariri said he and President Michel Aoun allowed IS fighters to cross the border, but their evacuation in buses to eastern Syrian came upon a decision from Hezbollah.
