REPORT: Berri’s suggestion stirs controversy inside Parliament

Lebanese lawmakers convened on Tuesday in a parliament session in under the chairmanship of Speaker Nabih Berri.

During the session, Berri said that his Development and Liberation bloc submitted a draft law under which the extended mandate of the present parliament would expire on December 31, 2017 instead of May 21, 2018.

Berri’s suggestion stirred controversy inside and outside the Parliament.
