REPORT: Nasrallah says battle against IS should continue until its total eradication

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered on Sunday a televised speech to commemorate killed Hezbollah fighters from the al-Achek and Nasser el-Din families.

In his speech, Nasrallah asserted that the battle against the Islamic State will not end “unless the terrorist organization is totally eradicated.”

“Allowing the survival of IS poses a danger on Iraq, Syria and Lebanon,” he added.

Nasrallah also accused the US of trying to prevent and delay the battles against IS.

“The US aircrafts are preventing in some cases the Syrian army and the Resistance from advancing towards areas controlled by IS,” he added.

On another note, Nasrallah said that the US new strategy regarding Iran will affect the entire region, adding that the US sanctions on Hezbollah will not change “its stance at all even if the sanctions will have repercussions on Lebanon’s economy.”

Nasrallah also commented on statements said by Saudi Arabian Minister of State for Arab Gulf Affairs Thamer al-Sabhan who called for an International coalition against Hezbollah.

He said that al-Sabhan admitted in his comments that Hezbollah can’t be fought against with a local collaition and that Saudi Arabia needs a bigger and International alliance.

This as he stressed by saying that Hezbollah is a main element for peace, adding however that Israel and Saudi Arabia form the real danger on regional security and peace.

Nasrallah concluded by saying that the US wants a president that is an agent for them, adding that President Michel Aoun is not a US agent.
