Merkel calls Aoun, voices support to Lebanon

President Michel Aoun received on Tuesday a phone call from German Chancellor Angela Merkel who voiced her support to Lebanon.

Merkel also said that she backs all efforts deployed to restore things back to normal in Lebanon.

She concluded by asserting that she will contact leaders of European countries in order to follow up on the developments in Lebanon.

Hariri resigned from the Lebanese premiership on November 4th from Saudi Arabia, citing assassination plots and Hezbollah’s policies as reasons behind his resignation.

His resignation threw the country into a political crisis.
