Journalist and TV host Marcel Ghanem declared that “he is currently accused of contempt of judiciary, contempt of the president and is being tried for the crime of silence,” adding that “he will not defend anyone since he is a host.”
“I do not regret what happened on air, I only managed the episode, where is the crime in that?” he asked.
In an interview with al-Arabiya channel, Ghanem hoped that “the Justice Ministry will answer him on his questions about the judiciary’s discretion and dealing with the press.”
He emphasized that “Kalam El-Nas” never been used to praise rulers, adding that they can cancel the talk show but they cannot tame it.
