Minister of Justice Salim Jreissati said on Thursday that the jurisdiction has been overburdened, adding that “any political strike against it is forbidden” because it is the only authority that rules on behalf of the Lebanese people.
During his tour in the Palace of Justice in Zahle, Jreissati stressed that the battle for public freedom is a “fictitious political battle.”
“We’re people who are not terrified by challenges,” concluded Jreissati.
For his part, Deputy Boutros Harb responded to Jreissati’s statement saying, “I call on him and his partners to lift their burdens off of the judicial authority for to enable it to rule on behalf of the Lebanese people.”
