Lebanon lost a great man
Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rai called MP Nayla Tueini and former minister Wadih al-Khazen, and offered his condolences following the death of former minister and press baron Ghassan Tueni.           

Rai said on Friday that Lebanon lost by Ghassan Tueni's death one of Lebanon's most prominent national symbols, who gave so much for the press and politics.             

In Turn, the head of the Kataeb party Amin Gemayel eulogized the soul of Ghassan Tueini in a talk show to the Voice of Lebanon - Dignity and Freedom - radio station. Gemayel offered condolences to Tueini's family, saying his death was a great loss for Lebanon and the whole world.

In this context, the National Liberal Party issued a statement by which they considered that by Ghassan Tueni’s death, the Lebanese people lost a leader and an inspiring teacher, adding that his legacy enlightens the path of whoever wants to follow Ghassan Tueni’s dream.

Moreover, Abdel Hadi Mahfouz, the head of the National Audiovisual Media Council, said that the Lebanese and Arab press lost a great pioneer and founder who fought for long time to build a modern and civil State and believed in peaceful change based on dialogue  between the Lebanese people.
