REPORT: Competition ongoing between Lebanese and Egyptian potatoes

The battle between the Lebanese and the Egyptian potatoes continues.

The farmers blame the situation on the Lebanese government and the Agriculture Ministry for failing to fulfill their promise to delay the access of Egyptian potatoes into the Lebanese markets by one month, in order to allow the selling of 15 tons of Lebanese potatoes staked in refrigerators for 200 LBP per kilo, which is less than cost price.
