Teachers to boycott official exams correction until demands met
The educational coordination committee confirmed on Tuesday that it will boycott the correction of official exams - pertaining to secondary or intermediate school degrees, or technical ones, until their demands are implemented.

The coordination committee's demand was to approve on the consensual salaries and degrees grid which has been an outcome of a joint meeting among the Prime Minister and Educational and Finance Ministers.

The committee stressed, during a strike near the Ministry of Education, that all the teachers are united on this position until they achieve their rights, calling for a meeting between the minister of Finance and the Minister of Education to approve their demands.

In this context, Hanna Gharib, the head of the Secondary Teachers Association confirmed that the boycott will last until the demands are met.

In turn, private school teachers’ union president Nehme Mahfouz said that they completely lost their confidence, noting that they have not yet been paid the cost of living.
