Berri sees national stability endangered, criticizes leakages following dialogue session

Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, told MPs during their weekly periodic meeting on Wednesday that Lebanon's stability is indeed edangered, building on what Israel is bracing for and the aftermath of the Syrian dossier.      

Berri stressed that facing such a scheme was feasible through cleaving to and shoring up national unity. The MPs quoted him as raking up former stages, namely the Israeli aggression against Lebanon in July 2006.        

"Lebanon triumphed through its resistance and national unity," they quoted him as saying.      

The Speaker hence maintained that national dialogue has become a necessity after it was just a need.       

On the all-party Dialogue held Monday at the Baabda presidential palace, Berri depicted the session as "good and serious."         

But he said what followed the session was "undesired" down to leakages and statements afterwards.        

"If we wanted to disclose the minutes of the session, then why have we met behind closed doors? If we wanted to unveil everything to media, then why there isn't a live broadcast?" the Speaker noted.       

On the other hand, Berri met today with former Minister Nayla Mouawad with talks featuring high on the current general situation.          

He also received the Danish Ambassador to Lebanon, Jan Top Christensen.      

He later met with the Head of the State Council, Judge Shukri Sader.
