Government coop employees hold open-ended demonstration

Employees of the Cooperative of Government Employees resumed their open-ended demonstration on Thursday at the Central Administration and all branches and offices across Lebanon to protest the cabinet’s failure to approve their demands.

Protesters warned of escalating their movement in the event of failure to meet their demands which go as follow:

- An increase in medical assistance from 75% to 90%

- An increase in hospitalization services from 75% to 100%

- Granting employees the right to choose at the age of 64 between retirement pension and end-of-service indemnity.
