President Aoun: Lebanon to soon have direct flights to Spain

President Michel Aoun asserted on Tuesday that Lebanon will soon have direct air route with Spain in order to facilitate the travel of the Lebanese people and that of the nationals of Latin American countries.

Aoun’s comments were made during a meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira whereby he called on the minister not to reduce the number of soldiers in the UNIFIL Spanish Contingent, nor to reduce its budget.

“The Spanish contingent is carrying out a significant role in preserving peace and stability in south Lebanon, mainly amid the frequent Israeli aggressions,” Aoun added.

The Middle East Airlines opened on Thursday (March 01) reservations for its new service to Spain, which sees the airline offering Beirut-Madrid nonstop flight.

From June 16, 2018, Airbus A320 aircraft will operate this route 3 times a week.
