LBCI reveals names of 14 Islamist detainees to be released within 24 hours

Judge Ghassan Owaydat decided on Monday to release 14 Islamist detainees within 24 hours.
In this context, Sheikh Nabil Rahim confirmed to LBCI that "we will press ahead with our movement to confront injustice against all detainees".

Rahim added that the 14 Islamist detainees will be released tomorrow morning as another group will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Meanwhile, sources pointed out efforts to release another Islamist detainee.

In this context, Justice Minister Shakib Kortbawi confirmed that “when the indictment is issued no one but the Judicial Council will handle the case of Islamist detainees”.

Rahim confirmed to LBCI that this move came after a number of Lebanese politicians realized that the case has legal flaws.

In Tripoli, particularly in An-Nour Square, the relatives of Islamist detainees began to remove the tents earlier set in the square.

The detainees to be released are:

- Mohammad Khaled
- Ahmad al-Safrajlany
- Ibrahim Qbayter - Hussein Sahyoun
- Jalal Mathlaj - Mohammad Wahbe
- Ahmad al-Ayoubi
- Jihad al-Qadi
- Ahmad al-Atar
- Mounjed al-Faham
- Ahmad al-Ahmad
- Moussa Ismail
- Mahmoud Seif
- Abd al-Rahman
