Hariri at Cedre conference: Measures taken recently by the government were necessary but not enough

Prime Minister Saad Hariri stressed that Lebanon is a small country facing enormous political, economic and security challenges, noting that the Lebanese economy used to have an average annual growth of 8% in the three years prior to the outbreak of the Syrian war, but with the Syrian crisis and the displacement of the refugees to Lebanon, this growth collapsed to an average of 1% per year.”

During the inauguration of Cedre conference in France to support Lebanon, Hariri pointed out that the loss in the GDP caused by the Syrian causes reached USD 18 billion until the year 2015.

“The measures taken recently by the government were necessary but not enough,” he stressed, calling for boosting growth and fighting unemployment.

“We are here to present the comprehensive vision of the government for stability, growth and job creation,” the PM stated.
