The legislative elections of 2018 are the most to witness competition between relatives.

 

In Akkar, former MP Wajih Mohamad al-Baarini, allied with Syrian Social Nationalist Party and the Marada Movement is running against his son Walid who is running with the Future Movement.

 

In Tripoli-Minieh-Donnieh, Future Movement candidate Dima Mohammad Rashid al-Jamali is running against her brother-in-law Mohammad al-Fadel, running for the Sunni seat on al-Azem Movement list.

 

In North Lebanon’s third district, candidate William (Melhem) Taouq on the list of SSNP-Marada-Harb alliance is running against his cousin Setrida Taouq-Geagea running on the list of LF-Kataeb alliance.

 

In the same district, Canidate Nicholas Ghosn with the list of FPM-Future is running against his cousin Fayez Ghosn, a Marada candidate.

 

In Keserwan –Jbeil, candidate Jean Hawat running on the list of al-Khazen-Soueid is competing against his nephew Ziad Hawat, who is running with the Lebanese Forces.

 

In the same district, former MP Farid al-Khazen is competing against his brother-in-law (husband of wife’s sister) Neemat Frem.

 

In Zahle, Michel Fattouch running with the Lebanese Forces, competes against his cousin Nicholas Fattoush allied with Hezbollah.

 

Also in Zahle, Michel Skaf, who is running on the list of FPM-Future Movement, competes against his cousin’s wife Myriam Skaf.
