Maronite Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rai addressed the International Community with a plea, calling “on the great states to use conscious in working on ending the war and restoring peace with diplomatic means,” noting that the peoples of the Middle East have the right to live in peace.
“We know how wars begin, but we do not know how they end,” he said, expressing regret over “the absence of the peace language in Syria.”
He also showed solidarity with the Syrian refugees forced out of their homes.
