Geagea: Cabinet should draw up specific policy for the LAF

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Wednesday that frequent security incidents [prompted other countries] to lose faith in Lebanon, especially “since the cabinet is absent from the scene”.

Commenting on the army role amid the current challenges, Geagea called on the cabinet to the draw up a specific policy for the LAF.

Asked on the issue of dialogue, Geagea confirmed that “national dialogue will not divert attention away from the incidents witnessed on the Lebanese scene”.

Turning to economic issues, Geagea called on Energy Minister Gebran Bassil to resign since he is “unable to bring about changes”.

Geagea stressed that the economic situation in Lebanon is heading from bad to worse.
