Al-Akhbar newspaper received a letter dated on 28/09/2017, issued by the Embassy of Jordan in Beirut, including the report of the Jordanian ambassador following his meeting with his Emirati counterpart.
The letter stated that Saudi Arabia has been struggling inside and out, mainly in Lebanon, and despite its dissatisfaction with Hariri, he is “indispensable,” and that the UAE has advised against counting on former Minister Ashraf Rifi in Tripoli, since the Islamic movements have been getting closer to him. The report added that the assistance received by Rifi are provided by a businessman in Dubai Khalaf Habtour, and not from the Emirati government.
