The cabinet approved a number of items concerning the electricity plan, including finalizing the contracts with a consultant to place the rules and procedures to build plants; tasking the ministers of finance and energy with negotiating the contracting company over Deir Amar plant in order to reach an agreement before May 20.
The cabinet also called on Energy Minister to present to the council of ministers a comprehensive vision concerning the additional energy required; however, the ministers did neither approve to being in new power ships, nor agreed to renew the contract with the present ships.
Minister Cesar Abi Khalil commented, saying that that agreement has been reached over most of the items, noting that they did not propose new power ships, but we proposed several source to buy energy from.
On another note, concerning the parliamentary elections, the cabinet decided to close public administrations and schools on Friday and Monday, May 04 and 07, due to the electoral procedures.
