REPORT: Parliament of 2009: 43% of MPs did not present any draft law

From 2009 to 2017, the parliament witnessed many term extensions, periods of vacuum and minimal parliamentary work, instead of legislation and monitoring.

A Lebanese center for studies conducted a study on the performance of the last parliament and came up with the following:

43% of the deputies did not present any draft law during their mandate.

In 8 years, the parliament passed 352 laws.

31 laws related to the needs of the people, 5 laws related to electricity, water, health and education and the rest are international agreements.
