REPORT: In Beirut’s 1st constituency, situation remains vague as candidates focus on electoral quotient

In Beirut’s first electoral district, the situation remains unclear, while rivals have been using all their available means in the battle, including high tone speech and exchange of accusations between candidates.

With the Election Day drawing near, it has become clear that the candidates, competing over 8 seats, have been racing to guarantee the electoral quotient and the preferential vote.

5 candidates are competing over the Maronite seat, including Nadim Gemayel, who is running against Massoud al-Ashkar, allied with the Free Patriotic Movement.
