Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq declared that the voter turnout in Lebanon’s parliamentary elections reached 49.20%, stressing that those who did not vote will bear the responsibility of their choice and must not object in the future since they were allowed to vote.
During a press conference held at midnight, the minister added that the voting process was slow and this is normal since the law is new and applied for the first time.
He stated that many disputes took place, but were resolved quickly, emphasizing that there were no reports of gunfire.
