REPORT: Choueifat dignitaries demand handing over of main culprit in clashes

Elected MP Taymour Jumblatt called on Wednesday to hand over those involved in Choueifat clashes.

This as Choueifat sheikhs and dignitaries demanded the handing over of the main culprit of the Choueifat incident that led to the killing of one person.

Yesterday, a clash erupted in Choueifat and escalated to include gunfire between supporters of the Progressive Socialist Party and supporters of the Lebanese Democratic Party, leaving one person dead.

The Lebanese Armed Forces intervened and intensified their deployment in the region to restore calm.

PSP chief Walid Jumblatt had posted on his Twitter account, calling on all everyone to exercise restraint and open a new page after the elections, noting that clashes within the same family are shameful.
