The Progressive Socialist Party responded to the press conference held by Lebanese Democratic Party Talal Arslan, stating that the PSP will not be dragged into useless debates and polemics and will not enter deep disputes that only aim at shifting the attention from the main incident that took place in Choueifat and led to the martyrdom of Alaa Abi Faraj.
The PSP reiterated its firm position, emphasizing the need that the official apparatuses assume their responsibilities so that the judicial proceedings begin and those involved get arrested and prosecuted, in accordance with the laws and norms.
The party added in its statement that “Arslan overlooked the fact that he hid and protected the main perpetrator in the crime, which blows the content of the press conference.”
The PSP also apologized from PM Hariri, explaining that “they did not lay their problems on his shoulders but there’s an incident that occurred in a Lebanese region called Choueifat and requires him as a PM to follow up and impose law and justice.”
