After President Michel Aoun appointed Saad Hariri as prime minister to form a new cabinet, Aoun, Hariri and Speaker Berri held a meeting at Baabda palace.
Following the meeting, Hariri said that he will kick off work to form a national unity government, stressing that he will work on fighting corruption.
“The president’s remarks yesterday in this regard are very important and we should build on them,” he stated.
The appointed PM said that the new cabinet will follow up on the Syrian displacement crisis and will work on achieving the promised reforms.
He pointed out that all the political factions have an intention to facilitate the formation of the cabinet, given the challenges faced by the country.
