Mikati: Financial and economic situation has reached a serious level

MP Najib Mikati called on Friday for the swift formation of the government in order to start dealing with the overall urgent economic, financial and political problems and dossiers.

Mikati’s comments were made to his visitors in the northern city of Tripoli whereby he asserted that he is following up on the procedures taken by the Central Bank to secure the financial stability and to keep Lebanon “away from the repercussions of external storms.”

“Financial and economic situation has reached a serious level,” he added.

As for the naturalization decree, Mikati said that despite that the naturalization decree is “legal,” the reason behind the confusion over it was due to “the way this file was approached.”
