Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea stressed that Lebanon is a pluralistic country and the formation of a cabinet requires little time, assuming that the government will be formed within the next few weeks not more.
He also noted that the process of forming a cabinet is not that simple, pointing out that the party had only participated in one or two governments, and the reason is that they refuse to be a part of a cabinet if their part was not effective and correspond to their representative size in accordance with the results of the parliamentary elections.
Geagea added that “there is no doubt that the Arab states, mainly Saudi Arabia and its direct ally UAE, care about the situation in Lebanon,” stating however that the severe crises in the region, like in Yemen for example, have been occupying them.
On the Syrian refugee issue, the LF chief said that there are many safe areas in Syria, noting that he supports the refugees’ return in an organized way that puts them in the safe regions.
