Tunisian Deputy PM for Administrative Reform resigns

Tunisian Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Reform Mohamed Abbou announced his resignation from his position on Saturday in a press conference held at the office of the Congress for the Republic party.

Abbou explained his resignation by claiming that he was not given “enough” prerogatives in order to reform Tunisia’s administrative system.

“I announced my resignation today because there was no clear identification of the prerogatives that I was given. There is a lot of corruption in every sector, and there is a limit of how far I can open corruption files. I want to improve the administrative system, but my powers are limited,” Abbou said.
