Good news for the Lebanese citizens in general and for low-income employees in particular.
In a long-overdue step, the Economy Ministry confronted the “power generators phenomenon,” which has been draining the citizens in an uncontrollable manner.
Two memos issued by caretaker Economy Minister Raed Khoury put an end to the fear from the generators’ bill.
One of the memos imposes on the generators’ owners to install meters for the subscribers, within a deadline that ends in September 2018, calling for providing these meters in the markets.
Installing meters is a fair trade for both parties, the owners and the subscribers, making the citizen pay for what how much he uses, in addition to a monthly fee fixed at 12,000 LBP for 5 AMP, 20,000 LBP for 10 AMP and so on.
