Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Gebran Bassil continued on Thursday his visit to the United States, where he met with his US counterpart John Sullivan in Washington DC on the sidelines of the Conference for the Promotion of Religious Freedom.
During the meeting, both officials discussed the Lebanese Cabinet formation process, whereby Sullivan emphasized the concern of the United States towards Hezbollah’s role in Lebanon and the region and “the threat it poses for the regional stability.”
“All Lebanese parties should commit to Lebanon’s International obligations and stop violating the self-distancing policy,” Sullivan concluded by saying.
