Calm in Wadi Khaled restored
Calm returned to Wadi Khaled following clashes and gunfire that reigned throughout the night between Syrian troops and Lebanese nationals.

This as the LAF intensified its patrols throughout the area’s hot-spots.

LBCI learned on Wednesday that the Syrian army was on alert after clashes erupted on Tuesday in the border town of Bekayaa.

Information made available to LBCI revealed that Syrian forces opened fire towards Attiya al-Mousa crossing near Al-Kabir River, prompting armed men on the Lebanese side to open retaliatory fire. Accordingly, the Syrian forces fired back.

The LAF intensified overnight patrols and installed checkpoints in an attempt to apprehend the Lebanese shooters.

Meanwhile, Lebanese national Samer Khaled was wounded on his neck after a stray bullet hit him while sleeping on the roof of his home in the border town of Arida.

The source of the bullet came from clashes ongoing on the Syrian side of Al-Kabir River which saw security tension around 3:00 a.m.
