Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri stressed that hastening the formation of a cabinet is the responsibility of all the parties, saying that “there will come a time when he will name whoever is obstructing the formation process.”
He noted that he will meet with a number of political parties, hoping that the situation will improve within the two or three upcoming days.
Hariri stressed that any constitutional readings and interpretations presented by a certain minister do not concern him.
“I am the PM-designate and I will remain so and will form a cabinet in cooperation with the President, I know my prerogatives and if anyone has any comments, let them bring them to me,” he said firmly.
Commenting on the position of Hezbollah towards the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, Hariri said that the party’s position has been clear since a long time.
On the issue of the refugee crisis, the PM-designate pointed out that he coordinated with caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, prior and after his travels to Russia, adding that cooperation is ongoing with the Russians.
“We all want the refugees to return, but according to their will and with international assistance and discussing this matter does not take place by opening a dialogue with the regime,” he stated.
