EDL contractors escalate movement, demand salaries
Fresh reports stated that the Charles el-Helou Road has now been reopened after it was blocked by protesting EDL contract workers on both sides in front of the Cornish el-Naher company headquarters.

Previous reports said that the EDL contract workers closed the main gate of Electricite Du Liban’s Headquarters  Monday demanding the administration that their salaries be paid.  Conflicting reports said that the gates were not closed, but that workers are awaiting ongoing negotiations.  The negotiations so far are being described as negative.

EDL had previously sent the workers attendance sheets to contracting companies referring to the month of May and June 2012. The contracting companies have so far refused to pay salaries claiming workers’ nonattendance as the main reason.

In Tyre, EDL contractors are also staging a parallel sit-in since 7:30 am in front of the local EDL branch. They too closed the main gates, preventing other employees’ entry and exit.

LBCI reports also said that workers are staging a rally in Jounieh's branch. The workers who identified themselves as "Christians" stated that they were going to up the movement if their rights are not met.
