Employees at Ehden Hospital call for resolving salaries issue before resorting to escalation

The General Manager of Ehden governmental hospital Joseph Frangieh called on caretaker Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani to grant an urgent financial contribution to the hospital, in order to facilitate the work and services, noting that the employees, emergency physicians, nurses and the administrative body have not been paid since nine months.

In this regards, the hsopital’s employees issued a statement whereby they stressed that they have neared the tenth unpaid month, adding that despite this situation they have been working in the service of the people and the residents of Ehden and the neighboring region.

“However, the situation can no longer be delayed and prolonged with the winter season drawing near, when the Ehden hospital would be the only operating hospital in the mountainous region, becoming a necessity for everyone,” the statement added.

They also called on the health minister and other concerned authorities to resolve their issue before  resorting to escalatory measures.
