The Lebanese Forces party based its negotiations for the ministerial share on the results of the parliamentary elections that increased the party’s representation from 8 deputies to 15, and on the Maarab agreement with the Free Patriotic Movement, mainly in terms of distribution of sovereign and normal portfolios.
In the beginning, the Lebanese Forces insisted on being allocated 9 ministries, in addition to one sovereign ministry and the position of deputy PM. These demands were not met for several reasons.
