Russia’s President Vladimir Putin awarded George Shaaban, Advisor to the Lebanese Prime Minister for Russian Affairs with the friendship medal, which is the highest award granted to foreign citizens.
In a speech he delivered during Moscow Kremlin reception to mark National Unity Day, Putin praised the role played by Shaaban in promoting the Russian-Lebanese ties.
In turn, Shaaban hailed the support provided by Russia to Lebanon at all international conferences, as well as Russia’s role in supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
