Refugee influx creates heavy traffic at al-Masnaa crossing point

The influx of Syrian refugees flooding into Lebanon Friday resulted in a suffocating gridlock on the Masnaa crossing point along the Lebanese-Syrian border.

The traffic flow caused by the aforementioned reasons, reached its peak on Thursday evening, where around 18,600 Syrian refugees were reported to have crossed the al-Masnaa point.

Escalating violence in Syria is the main reason for nationals leaving their homes behind, and heading for safety inside Lebanon, with no clear end in sight. Many were even coming into the country with no support and no plans for a home or a job.

The coming weeks will bring to light what the fate of these refugees will entail.
