Jumblatt: Damascus blast does not imply Assad’s departure
PSP leader MP Walid Jumblatt said on Friday that the Damascus blast does not imply that Syrian President Bashar Assad will give up his power anytime soon.

The swift arming and financing of the Free Syrian Army will spare Syria further bloodshed and destruction, he stressed during his meeting with representatives of Arab media in Beirut.

“Assad will not give up”, he confirmed, reiterating his call on the Jabal al-Arab residents to join the revolt and support the “demands of the Syrian people”.

Jumblatt also called on the pro-government forces to defect and join the FSA, which is “the sole means to topple the current regime”.
