Secretary General of the Higher Relief Committee Maj. Gen. Mohammad Kheir inspected Wednesday the situation in Antelias where al-Fouar River flooded the streets. Kheir stressed that compensations will be guaranteed for those affected by the flooding, noting that he will be issuing a memo in this regard soon.
In turn, Director General of Civil Defense Brigadier General Raymond Khattar declared that the Civil Defense teams are working on assisting the residents to pump out the water from inside the buildings, pointing out that the soil and rubble that were blocking the river have been removed.
He added that Antelias highway has been reopened and the water was removed from the road.
