Khoury: Political differences must be put aside of economy

Caretaker Economy Minister Raed Khoury asserted on Friday that the economy is the factor that drives the politics in the world.

“We must deploy more efforts in order to improve the economic and developmental conditions,” he added during a preparatory meeting for the upcoming economic summit.

Khoury voiced hopes that the Arab Economic and Social Development summit would be followed “by practical steps with consistent and achievable objectives.”

“The deterioration of the situation in the Arab countries led to the deterioration of the economies of the region, and we must put political differences aside of the economic topics," he added.
