Member of “Strong Lebanon” bloc MP Salim Khoury said Thursday that Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri proposed a formula that reached consensus of all parties, hoping that no new obstacle will arise to further delay the cabinet formation.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, MP Khoury explained that they have presented many facilitations and concessions to speed up the formation process, adding that “after the bloc has been expanded, they had to maintain some of the portfolios they previously held, such as the Environment Ministry.”
“Why no one had wanted it before?” he asked.
He also hoped that the government will be homogeneous and capable to rescue Lebanon’s economy, adding that the country is passing through a difficult situation.
“We need bold decision to put an end to the ongoing waste and to boost public finances,” he pointed out.
