Future of more than 1500 Lebanese student remains bleak
For failure of private Lebanese universities to accommodate to the many, several Lebanese students instead opted for Syrian universities, thanks to scholarships offered to them by the Syrian government. However the deterioration of the situation in Syria seems to have rendered the future of more than 1500 student unknown.

The students resorted to social media websites to raise their plea, signing a petition, to be presented to the Education Ministry, where they claimed their rights as Lebanese citizens to enter universities in Lebanon.

For his part, Education Minister Hassan Diab said that students’ transfer from a university to another is not an easy process, noting that a meeting is expected to be held with the President of the Lebanese University to discuss the situation.
