Nine boy scouts lost in Lebanese forests

A group of nine boy scouts set out on a mission to discover the Bekfayya-Nahr el-Kalb Forrest track. In the midst of their journey, however, they found themselves lost after 7 hours had passed, finally prompting them to call the Internal Security Forces emergency number 112 for help.

A Mount Lebanon Police Department unit, in cooperation with the Lebanese Commando Regiment, directly began searching for the lost boys in the enclave extending from Jeita grotto to Ballouneh valley through to Darayya. The forces were able to locate them at around dawn Wednesday, and worked on pulling them out of the forests using ropes. It was reported that the boys were in good health.

The group expressed gratitude to the security forces, the army and civil defense for cooperating with them quickly, noting that they did not have anything but a mobile phone.
