Patriarch Rai: Delay in implementing reforms is unacceptable

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai said on that the government's delay in implementing reforms is unacceptable".

Rai’s comments were made during his Sunday’s sermon at Bkerke whereby he lamented also the delay in addressing the electricity dossier.

He also called officials to approve the 2019 state’s Budget and to refer it to the Parliament.

Rai concluded by stressing that the country is on the brink of economic and financial abyss, calling on politicians, public institutions and the Lebanese people to live in a state of organized austerity that benefits the state’s Treasury.
