Energy Minister Boustani says electricity plan will be approved Monday

Minister of Energy Nada Boustani toured on Saturday the offices of the Electricité Du Liban in Jounieh.

The minister was received by MPs Roger Azar and Nehmat Efrem as well as other officials and dignitaries.

During the tour, Boustani voiced hopes that “the technical waste would be reduced gradually from now until the end of the current year according to the set plan."

The minister then headed to the Zouk thermal power plant where she said that the old plant will be replaced by a new eco-friendly gas-fired one.

She also noted that the electricity plan will be approved next Monday, adding that plan aims increasing the production and tariffs and putting an end for EDL’s deficit.
