Aoun says Judiciary must be a constitutional and independent authority

President Michel Aoun stressed that the judiciary is the foundation stone to build a state of law, stressing that there cannot be a state without an independent and transparent judicial authority.

During a ceremony held to celebrate the Centennial Jubilee of Bar Association, Aoun noted that the judiciary must be a constitutional and independent authority in accordance with the Article 20 of the Constitution.

Aoun also declared that he called for a conference to be held to discuss the judiciary’s affairs in Lebanon, adding that preparations are underway to hold the conference at the Presidential Palace.
